CU Authors Share your Voice with other Champaign Area Authors

Caleb Curtiss has started a local CU Authors page where local authors can share their information and events with other authors and members of the community. Writing in your little hovel or ivory tower doesn't need to be a lonesome adventure. Hop on over to the CU Authors Page to add your web site and/or event to promote your love of reading, writing, literature, performing, drama, interdisciplinary ventures, spectacle, public activism, etc. Let your voice be heard. Hope to see you there.

The Random Number Generator has Spoken... and we have two winners of the Big Poetry Giveaway 2014

Thanks to all 16 participants- the odds were in your favor for the giveaway but only 2 could survive.
Congratulations to Lissa and Lynn - As a bonus please check out their blogs

Lissa at Thoughts on life, writing and japanese and south korean culture

and Lynn at http://lynnpedersen.wordpress.com/

both are very interesting and accomplished writers and bloggers - please check out their sites.

And in keeping with the spirit of this website please search out your own local sources of poetry in your own communities and get involved ...  in worst case scenario you can always create your own group. Blogging is great but nothing really beats sharing your writing face to face and in front of an audience.
Happy reading and writing and sharing everyone -

Poetry Workshops

tegan.jpeg

Once a week - every week - we meet in person to workshop and share our own poetry and those from favorite authors as well as discuss poetry related topics and issues

Write for whatever holy thing you believe in, not for your poetry workshop fellows... The main thing is to know that your craving to write is the big thing and will continue, and is more valuable than the finished poem.
— Mary Oliver

Poetry Jams

Bringing poetry and music to the public  -

We are always on the look out for new venues. Performing is not only fun but builds Character - as they used to say, free yourself to speak your heart and mind whatever life throws your way and learn to effectively share your passions with your audience

When power leads men towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man’s concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
— John F. Kennedy
